About Me

My name is Hope Moses, and I am a proud Wisconsin native, growing up on the Northwest side of Milwaukee. There, I developed a deep understanding of equity, justice and journalism as a public service. As the first in my immediate family to earn a college degree, I graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a certificate in Peace Studies. Throughout my undergraduate career, I focused on reporting stories related to accountability, racial equity and policy. I also contributed to two investigative projects, one of which received national recognition.

My journalism experience includes more than 10 internships, including positions with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the O'Brien Fellowship in Public Service Journalism and the Inaugural James W. Foley Fellowship. Additionally, I served as Executive Director of the Marquette Wire, leading our student media outlet during my senior year.

Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Science degree in Investigative and Data Reporting at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. My studies have equipped me with technical skills in HTML, CSS, SQL, and data visualization, allowing me to analyze complex datasets and bring stories to life through interactive reporting. Graduate school has also deepened my passion for stories related to criminal justice, policing, public safety and health reporting.

Next, I will be joining the Chicago Tribune as a reporting intern, covering data-driven stories in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
